If you are trying to find cheap airfares. You've seen Spirit Airlines showing up in the search results with affordable airfares. Even so, you might not be familiar with this low-cost carrier.
Spirit Airlines reservations operates as an ultra-low-cost airline with inexpensive fares. Spirit charges for services that other airlines provide for free.
In this essay, I'll go over all the information that you require to know regarding booking a Spirit flight.
Fares
Spirit Airlines only offers one fare class. And its prices are lower than those of established airlines. But, many of the items you would get for free on a legacy airline may cost more while flying on Spirit.
Seat Selection Fees
When purchasing a Spirit flight, you can choose an advanced seat for an extra fee. According to their website, the cost of selecting a seat varies from $1 to $750 for every leg of your journey. In August 2023, I looked up the cost of a September flight from Atlanta to Detroit. I observed that seat selection costs ranged from $7 (middle seat, rear of the plane) to $52 (big seat, very front of the plane) per way.
Baggage Fees
Spirit allows you to take a single personal possession onboard for free, which can be a purse, laptop bag, or small backpack with a maximum size of 18x14x8 inches, including straps and wheels. You may want to use a tape measure to make sure your bag is adequate in size. Most regular-sized "roll boards" will be too large to qualify as a free personal item.
According to Spirit's website, wheelchairs, car seats, and strollers can sometimes be checked or brought aboard for free.
Priority Boarding
Priority boarding ("Shortcut Boarding") is available when you purchase a bundled fare (more on that below) or as an add-on at checkout.
As I was booked a flight, I decided not to select a bundle. By the end, I was asked to add priority boarding for $9.99 per person, for each trip.
